The Arizona Trail Association is a membership organization, seeking active supporters of the Trail, coordinating volunteers, and providing other essential services to the Arizona Trail project.
The mission of the Arizona Trail Association, as adopted by the Board of Directors is:
to coordinate the planning, development, management, and promotion of the Arizona Trail for the recreational and educational experiences of non-motorized trail users.

Goals of the Association include:
As the nonprofit organization for the cross-state Arizona Trail, the Arizona Trail Association (ATA) is involved in many activities that relate to the Arizona Trail. It is these activities that assist in bringing the Arizona Trail to completion, a trail that is becoming one of the premier long-distance trails in the country. Join the Arizona Trail Association.
The ATA underwent a strategic planning process in 1996 to determine where the efforts of the Association should be focused, especially to achieve the goal of having a continuous trail corridor open to the public by the year 2000.
Many priorities were identified, however, some activities stood out as extremely important. Without a doubt, there are opportunities for everyone that has an interest in the Arizona Trail.
Please visit our Arizona Trail Programs Page to learn about the many tasks where additional volunteers are needed. These tasks are grouped under the appropriate ATA program, and the program manager is listed. Some tasks just need additional volunteers, while others may need a lead individual.
Take a look . . . . and we're sure you will see something that interests you. If you have questions, just call the appropriate program manager and they will be happy to answer you questions.
