  • No fee to participate
  • Traverse a few Arizona Trail (AZT) miles or 800 miles Ė your group decides
  • You choose from 100 AZT sections from Mexico to Utah
  • You form the group
  • You choose the mode Ė foot, pedal or hoof
  • You choose the date
  • Groups recognized on the ATCA Epicenter page
  • Progress tracked by SPOT
AZ Centennial graphic Be a part of a multi-group effort to cross the entire 800+ mile AZT over a 6 week period from September 15 to October 31, 2011.  This unique outdoor Arizona Centennial celebration is ideal for your active club, employee group, friends and family to enjoy the Arizona National Scenic Trail.


  • Every groupís name, size and optional contact information will be proudly recognized at the ATCA Epicenter web page.
  • SPOT Ė all groups are encouraged to use a SPOT tracking device.  SPOT is a satellite GPS messenger device that provides real-time location tracking over the web (using Google Earth).  For more information, go to our SPOT page.
  • After trip completion, pictures and short reports are encouraged so they may be shared with the media, other groups and the public. Details can be found on our ATCA event report page.
  • Specially designed ATCA event t-shirts can be purchased at our Zazzle storefront.


  • ATCA is for groups
  • A group must include at least 4 people
  • Groups must complete their trip on their selected date
  • If your groupís date or plans change, let us know
  • Groups are entirely responsible for planning and carrying out their trip
  • All registrations must be submitted online before August 31, 2011  Registration is closed.

Arizona Trail Centennial Adventure Signature Ride, Run and Hike Kick-Off Event
- Saturday, September 24, 9:30 AM at Mormon Lake Lodge.

Join in the ATAís tribute to Arizonaís Centennial by spending a few hours on the nearby Arizona Trail. Bring your ATCA group or join another to traverse the AZT near Mormon Lake. Please provide your own water and snacks for the trail. Attend the Kick Off so that all ATCA trail users enjoy the trail together in the best possible way!
Your registered ATCA group will be contacted after August 31 to confirm which groups will attend the kick off. And, the ATCA Kick Off Signature Event will be held during the Arizona Trail Associationís Rendezvous weekend Ė all ATCA groups are welcome to register and attend the Rendezvous (itís a separate registration and fee to attend the Rendezvous).
