Schultz Pass Road Temporarily Closed to Motorized Vehicles
Schultz Pass Road is closed to motorized vehicles while crews work to move slash piles from the Schultz Creek trailhead to the staging area at Schultz Pass. This closure is expected to be in effect for a few more weeks.
Coconino National Forest officials say while Schultz Pass Road will remain open to non-motorized use, several eleven-foot-wide articulating dump trucks will be operating in the area. Hikers and bikers are asked to use caution while in the area and to entirely avoid Schultz Pass Road if possible. The slash hauling operations are part of the Midway project, which is part of the longer ongoing Flagstaff Watershed Protection Project.
The AZT in the area is open. Check the Flagstaff Ranger District’s website for the latest on road closures for this area.
