This #MemorialDay Weekend, we honor the memory of This #MemorialDay Weekend, we honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country—not just with words, but with our presence: on the land they swore to protect, in the wild places that offer peace and perspective. Here, among the wind and the junipers, we find healing in the dirt, the sweat, and the camaraderie.

I encourage you to step outside, even for a moment. Breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun on your skin, and remember the cost of our freedoms. Let nature hold space for your thoughts, your gratitude, and your reflection.

We are relieved to report that the amendment selli We are relieved to report that the amendment selling off 1.5 million acres of public land failed last night. All Democratic House members and 6 Republicans fought to get this amendment removed amidst other priorities within federal budget negotiations.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who called, wrote emails, and showed up to help make this happen. We were heartened to see the outdoor community so united and empowered in this effort.

We know additional attacks on public lands, National Park Service staff, funding for trails, and much more are coming soon. But for now, let’s celebrate this win.

Please stay informed, engaged, and ready to take action. We can only protect the Arizona National Scenic Trail with your support.
Late on May 7th, lawmakers in the House Natural Re Late on May 7th, lawmakers in the House Natural Resources committee advanced an amendment that could put more than 1,500,000 acres of public land up for sale. The proposed land sales were passed as an amendment to a massive budget reconciliation package that also includes rollbacks on conservation efforts and the public process. This amendment bypasses federal land agency processes for public land sales—processes that require public comment and environmental review.

Arizona lawmakers understand the benefits that public lands bring to our state but need to hear from YOU to vote against this.

🙌 Gila Canyons Rainwater Collector Repaired! W 🙌 Gila Canyons Rainwater Collector Repaired!
Windy conditions this winter and spring damaged the roof catchment panels on the rainwater collector at the southern end of #arizonatrail Passage 17. High winds folded the metal roof completely in half and greatly reduced the amount of rainwater the unit was able to collect. @torcamtb (Tucson Offroad Cyclists & Activists) generously provided their UTV for ATA staff to access this rugged and remote location with all the necessary equipment, materials and tools to make field repairs. While welding was off-limits due to Stage 2 Fire Restrictions on the Tonto National Forest, the rainwater collector was repaired by other means. A "rat screen" was also added inside to keep critters away from the inlet funnel. The ATA has plans to return in the Fall of this year when welding is possible in order to make more permanent repairs.
