Arizona Trail in a Day is back for 2025, and this year, it’s getting a refresh — one that puts joy, connection, and safety at the center of it all.

Instead of racing to complete miles, we’re inviting you to spend a day out on the trail simply enjoying it. No competition, no pressure, and no expectations. Whether you hike, bike, run, or ride a short section or a long stretch, the goal is the same: experience the Arizona Trail in whatever way feels best to you. We believe that by spending the day together as a community on the same trail that we’ll accomplish something truly spectacular.

The shift from trying to cover all 800 miles in a single day comes in response to what we’ve heard from the AZT community and the Trail itself, especially since October has become hotter with each passing year — making some segments unnecessarily dangers. Plus, we know many miles of the AZT will be closed due to recent wildfires.

Arizona Trail in a Day 2025 is about reconnecting with the essence of why we love the Trail, our appreciation for those who care for it, and for the memories we make on it.

Let’s make this year’s AZT in a Day a celebration of presence over pace. A celebration of community over completion. And a celebration of the 800 miles of scenic wonder that connect us all.
