Page council mulls AZ Trail gateway community moniker

The City of Page is being asked to promote the Arizona Trail as a gateway community, even though the 817-mile-long favorite of hikers does not pass through Page.
The 30-year-old trail, the brainchild of a late Flagstaff teacher, brushes near the western boundary of Vermilion Cliffs National Monument west of Page. The trailhead is located about 75 minutesโ€™ drive from Page, Page City Councilmembers were told Wednesday night by Sirena Dufault, the trailโ€™s Gateway Community Liaison.
