t’s true that trail maintenance doesn’t happen on its own, but most often we think of the boots on the ground and forget the logistical support required to get those boots to the right spot, with the required equipment and logistical support. As part of my effort to raise awareness of trail associations I asked Matt Nelson from the Arizona Trail Association to answer a few questions about himself and what he and the AZTA do. I managed to catch him before he left for a six-day backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada.
