YOU can become a Trail Steward!
Trail Stewards are the incredible volunteers who help monitor and maintain the entire length of the Arizona Trail. If you have any questions about a specific passage of trail, or notice something that needs to be addressed, Trail Stewards are the folks to contact.

Prospective Trail Stewards should have participated in several ATA work events and are familiar with the segment they wish to adopt. They will maintain their sections in a variety of ways – as an ongoing family activity, outings with a group of active friends and associates, or publicly advertised work events.

To learn more about the duties of a Segment Steward or Regional Steward, check out our Steward Job Description, or email volunteer at aztrail.org

The @aztassociation acknowledges these mountains are culturally significant to the Acoma, Apache, Havasupai, Hopi, Hualapai, Navajo, Southern Paiute, Yavapai and Zuni.

This #MemorialDay Weekend, we honor the memory of This #MemorialDay Weekend, we honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country—not just with words, but with our presence: on the land they swore to protect, in the wild places that offer peace and perspective. Here, among the wind and the junipers, we find healing in the dirt, the sweat, and the camaraderie.

I encourage you to step outside, even for a moment. Breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun on your skin, and remember the cost of our freedoms. Let nature hold space for your thoughts, your gratitude, and your reflection.

Late on May 7th, lawmakers in the House Natural Re Late on May 7th, lawmakers in the House Natural Resources committee advanced an amendment that could put more than 1,500,000 acres of public land up for sale. The proposed land sales were passed as an amendment to a massive budget reconciliation package that also includes rollbacks on conservation efforts and the public process. This amendment bypasses federal land agency processes for public land sales—processes that require public comment and environmental review.

Arizona lawmakers understand the benefits that public lands bring to our state but need to hear from YOU to vote against this.
