Trailblazers Film Premiere
Trailblazers Film Premiere
February 19, 2026 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Scottsdale Center For The Performing Arts, 7380 E 2nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, USA
Trailblazers — Film Premiere
A celebration of adventure, audacity, and the enduring power of Arizona’s public lands
Join us for the premiere of Trailblazers, a documentary that tells the remarkable story behind the origins of the Arizona Trail.
In 1982, two brothers set out with two mules to walk across Arizona. Their quest to trace the history of the state helped inspire what would become the Arizona Trail—a National Scenic Trail linking deserts, mountains, canyons, and cultures. The film weaves together vintage footage and present-day interviews with Bruce Babbitt, former Arizona Governor and U.S. Secretary of the Interior, and Kevin Fedarko, author of The Emerald Mile and A Walk in the Park.
This special evening is a fundraiser benefiting the Arizona Trail Association Endowment, supporting the long-term protection, stewardship, and future of the Arizona Trail.
Following the film, enjoy a live conversation on the value of public lands featuring:
-
Matt Nelson, Executive Director, Arizona Trail Association
-
Robert Stieve, Editor, Arizona Highways
-
Joan Meiners, The Arizona Republic reporter and recent Arizona Trail finisher
