The northern end of this passage should not be used by equestrians. It is narrow, steep and rocky in places. The ATA strongly suggests using the Pusch Ridge Wilderness Bypass instead.

Mug reveal! It's a coati (for all those who submit Mug reveal! It's a coati (for all those who submitted a guess)! We are excited to reveal our 2024 commemorative Arizona Trail mug! This is our way of thanking donors who support the ATA with a gift of $150 or more. This year's commemorative mug features a scene from the #HuachucaMountains (Passage 1) within #CoronadoNationalMemorial @coronado_nps. This unique biome is where grasslands meet oak woodland, and eventually transition to pine and aspen forest. The views into Sonora, Mexico are breathtaking, and much of the landscape remains relatively unchanged over the past 500 years. #Coatimundi (Nasua narica) are commonly seen in the Huachucas, and are a highlight for #ArizonaTrail visitors. These charismatic creatures are more common in Central and South America, but can also be found in the mountains and canyons of Arizona. The mug's glaze is inspired by the natural hues of this unique landscape. Created by the ceramic artists at @deneen_pottery, at least five sets of hands go into the creation of each mug. #highlinetrail update~ 🔸The 1.2-mile realignmen #highlinetrail update~ 🔸The 1.2-mile realignment to take the #AZT off a steep climb heading south from Geronimo Trailhead, was scouted, flagged and cleared in early 2023. After several delays, the work will continue in early November. ⚒️This past weekend, volunteers walked the route to ensure it is visible to the machine operator after the West Fire (the most recent delay). Speaking of the West Fire - check out those melted pens in the trailhead register box! 😳 Some of the old re-route flagging remained, but in other places, we had to examine burned brush stubs to see if they had been cut or just burned. Another fine day on the #arizonatrail!
