Stage II Fire Restrictions Throughout Arizona

Stage II Fire Restrictions are now in place on public lands throughout Arizona. The following are prohibited on lands, roads, and trails:
- Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove
- Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building
- Welding or operating any acetylene or other torch with an open area
- Discharging a firearm, air rifle, or gas gun (legal hunting is exempt)
- Operating a chainsaw or other equipment operated by an internal combustion engine
This affects all Passages of the Arizona National Scenic Trail, except for the Kaibab National Forest (Passages 36-37 and 40-42). Please help us keep the AZT and public lands safe during this high-risk fire season. This order will remain in effect until further notice. A violation of these restrictions may carry a fine of up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
